How long does the ceremony take?

Anywhere from 20-30 minutes, depending on how many people participate and the components you include.

Can we write our own vows?

Yes! We can give you ideas if you need them.  Our Ceremony Planning Guide and online resources are second to none in offering helpful tips if you choose to write your own vows.

Do we have to memorize our vows?

No! However you if want to, it's fine by us.

Can children take part in the ceremony?

Yes. We have a few suggestions on how this can work successfully.

What does the officiant wear?

A dark business suit is our standard.  Special requests to "fit" a theme can be negotiated!

Can photos be taken during the ceremony?

This is the couples decision.  We ask that the photographers be as discreet as possible during the actual ceremony in order to avoid distraction.

Is a rehearsal included?

Yes, your venue will conduct a rehearsal at an arranged time. The staff of your venue will lead the rehearsal, following the ceremony notes provided by your Officiant on the ceremony template. Your Officiant will not be present at your rehearsal, unless this is prearranged (see Fees page).

Is there an addition cost for a rehearsal?

If you wish to have your Officiant at the rehearsal their is an additional cost. The venue staff will will lead your rehearsal at no additional cost.

Where and when do we get our licence?

You can get your Marriage License at any city hall up to 90 days before the wedding. We recommend you get your licence at least 3 weeks prior to the wedding. The application can be downloaded from our web page.

How do I change my name after the wedding?

First you will need to apply for a certificate of marriage.  You will find more information on this process in our Bride Name Change section of the website.
